Mail App 2.0: Free and Open Source

Free and Open Source: Mail App is now free for everyone, with the code on GitHub under the Apache 2.0 licence. There's no licence key, trial or user limit beyond Cloudflare's own.

Install Your Way: Deploy from the code with Wrangler, or use the command-line installer from npm. Both install into your own Cloudflare account.

Updates from GitHub: Admins see a notice when a new release is out on GitHub, with a link to what's new.

Add Domains in the App: Add a domain on the Domains page once it's set up for Email Routing in Cloudflare.

Blog Builder 2.0.0: Free and Open Source

Free and Open Source: Blog Builder is now free for everyone, with the code on GitHub under the MIT licence. It installs into your own Cloudflare account.

Updates from GitHub: The Blog Builder page in your admin tells you when a new release is out.

Mail App 1.71: Stronger Spam Filter

Stronger Spam Filter: Dozens more checks for scams, phishing, drug spam, forms asking for your details, risky attachments such as invoice.pdf.exe, link shorteners and badly made emails, many of them taken from SpamAssassin, the open-source spam filter. They're free and run inside Mail App on your own Cloudflare account.

Learns as You Go: Each mailbox now learns from what you move to Spam and what you mark as Not spam, so it gets better the more it's used. Settings, under Spam, shows how much it has learnt.

Optional AI Check: Admins can switch on an AI check in Admin, under Spam filter, for mail from strangers that the free checks didn't catch. It runs on Cloudflare Workers AI in your own account, is off until you turn it on and has a daily limit. Cloudflare's free daily amount covers about 1,400 checks. Past that Cloudflare charges for what you use, and the page links to their prices.

Forward Spam Too: Trying Mail App alongside your old email? Under Email forwarding, turn on Forward spam too and your old address gets everything while you check what Mail App caught.

Mail App 1.70: Clearer Wording and Email Disclaimer

Clearer Wording: Every Admin page and every Settings tab has been rewritten to say plainly what each setting does.

Email Disclaimer: Company details is now Email disclaimer. Paste your disclaimer into one box and see how it looks on an example email. Details you saved before carry on unchanged.

Mail App 1.69: Your Own Branding and Reports

Your Own Branding: Put your company's logo, name and colour on Mail App in Admin, under Branding. Your team sees it in the menu, the browser tab, the app on their phone and the emails that invite and welcome them.

Your Own Support Address: Show your own help address in place of ours, so your team asks you. Once branded, only admins see the Mail App guides and version number.

Reports: See email received and sent, emails that couldn't be sent, spam caught and why, storage for each mailbox with what it costs on Cloudflare, and every time an admin opened someone else's mailbox. Choose the last 7, 30 or 90 days, and download any report as a CSV.

Find an Email: Search Reports by address, domain or subject to see what happened to any email across every mailbox: delivered, caught as spam and why, in the Bin, sent, or couldn't be sent and why. Press Problems only to see just the ones that went wrong, and Open to read one. Opening someone else's mailbox is logged where they can see it.

Private by Design: Reports only keep daily counts in your own Cloudflare account. Nothing is sent anywhere else.

Mail App 1.68: Send Always in View

Send Always in View: When you write an email in a narrower window, such as the installed app on a tablet, the buttons along the bottom now show just their icons so Send is always on screen. Point at any icon to see what it does. With more room, or in full screen, the words come back.

Mail App 1.67: Security Updates

Security Updates: The email editor, AI assistant and AI tool connection now use the latest, safest versions of the software they're built on. Nothing changes in how they work.

Mail App 1.66: AI Reply Assistant

AI Reply Assistant: Switch it on in Settings, under AI assistant, and Mail App drafts a reply to each new email for you to check. It never sends anything. It stays off until you turn it on, one mailbox at a time.

Private by Design: The assistant runs on Cloudflare Workers AI in your own Cloudflare account. Your email never comes to me or goes to an AI company, and Cloudflare doesn't keep it or use it to train AI.

See What It Keeps: Settings now shows exactly what the assistant does and keeps. Its side-panel chat keeps only its latest 100 messages, and switching the assistant off deletes it.

Mail App 1.65: Shared Calendars, Notes and Scheduled Send

Calendar Sharing: Share a calendar with people on your team, choosing busy times only, see all events or can edit. Share with everyone to make a team calendar.

See Your Calendar Anywhere: Turn on a private link for any calendar to see it in Apple Calendar, Google Calendar or Outlook.

Calendars From a Link: Add any calendar link, or UK bank holidays in one click. You can also import .ics files from Google, Outlook or Apple.

Built-in Notes: Keep notes and checklists beside your email, with pins, colours, search and reminders. Your notes are private unless you share one with everyone who uses the mailbox.

Scheduled Send: Choose when an email goes. Until then it waits in Scheduled, where you can send it now, change the time or cancel it.

Blog Builder 1.3.1: Home pages for every theme

Theme home pages: The five basic themes now have their own home page layouts.

Blog Builder 1.3: Themes and plugins

Sixteen themes: Six themes come included, plus ten more that were the premium pack. All sixteen are free.

Plugins: Plugins are built in, so you can add features without touching the code.

Mail App 1.63: Snooze, Reminders and Company Details

Snooze: Hide an email until later today, tomorrow, the weekend, next week or a time you choose, and it comes back to the top of your inbox, or sooner if someone replies.

Remind Me If No Reply: Choose a reminder when you send an email, or later from the bell on a sent email, and it comes back to your inbox if nobody answers in time.

Company Details Footer: Admins enter the company name, number and registered office once in Admin › Company details, and they go at the end of every email anyone sends.

Mail App 1.62: Email Forwarding

Email forwarding: Pass every new email on to another address, such as your old Gmail or a colleague, from the new Forwarding tab in Settings. Spam is never forwarded.

Keep a copy or not: Choose whether forwarded emails stay in your inbox or go straight to Archive, marked as read.

Best delivery: Verify the address in Cloudflare and each email is passed on exactly as it arrived, so it passes SPF, DKIM and DMARC checks.

Blog Builder 1.1: Moving from WordPress

Old links keep working: Moving from WordPress? Your old post addresses go straight to the same posts on your new blog.

Embeds load when clicked: Embedded videos and posts load only when a reader clicks them, so pages stay fast and private.

Mail App 1.59: Tidier Domains Page

Domains Page: The Domains page now looks like Users and Routing, with a table, coloured tags for each domain's mail records and type, and a ⋮ menu to remove a domain.

Mail App 1.58: Security and Sending Safeguards

Outbound rate limits: Each mailbox is now capped at 50 recipients per message, 50 recipients per hour, and 200 recipients per day. These limits cover all outbound traffic—including calendar invitations and automated out-of-office responses. Sent folder deletion no longer resets active counters.

Human-in-the-loop AI drafts: Third-party AI integrations (such as Claude MCP) are restricted to creating draft messages for human review. External AI tools cannot dispatch emails autonomously.

Web application hardening: Implemented strict clickjacking protection (`X-Frame-Options` / `frame-ancestors`) and Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) defences to prevent unauthorised cross-origin iframe embedding and state-changing browser attacks.

Mail App 1.57: AI Assistant Preview

AI assistant: The optional AI reply assistant is coming soon. It's switched off for everyone for now, and you can preview its settings in Settings, under AI assistant.

Model choice: When it arrives, you'll be able to choose the AI model that writes your drafts, with a link to Cloudflare's Workers AI pricing.

Privacy: When the AI assistant is off, Mail App sends no email or drafts to its built-in AI, even for drafts written by AI tools you connect.

Decide whether to keep or block it the moment its first email lands in your inbox.

Auto-expiring addresses: Set masked addresses to self-destruct on a specific date, after a set number of days, or immediately after receiving their first message.

Data leak detection: Easily spot when a service has leaked, sold, or shared your details, as every incoming message clearly shows which custom address it was sent to.
